Eddie Vedder doesn’t break promises.
According to Diffuser, the Pearl Jam frontman and man of his word honored a request made 22 years ago by an eager fan named Joe Wolfe. Wolfe encountered Vedder at a movie theater in Cincinnati in 1992, but, without a camera, the moment was lost in time like tears in the rain.
According to Wolfe, Vedder promised that “he would do a picture with me the next time I saw him.”

Three presidents, two decades, and one new millennium later, Wolfe met Vedder again at the band’s Oct. 1 show at Cincinnati’s US Bank Arena.
This time, Wolfe got more than he’d bargained for in the first place. Vedder invited Wolfe backstage, took a picture with him, and gave him a guitar pick and an autograph.
